Explanation of the structure

Trafag’s comprehensive range of gas density monitoring and measuring devices provides reliable solutions for SF₆ and the entire spectrum of alternative insulating gases. The portfolio is divided into three product groups — Gas Density Monitors, Gas Density Sensors, and Hybrid Gas Density Monitors — each offering specific advantages for different applications.

Gas Density Monitors operate purely mechanically based on the principle of reference gas comparison. They provide maintenance-free operation without the need for recalibration or an external power supply. This ensures dependable switching performance even under the toughest environmental conditions. The respective product numbers are 87x6, 87x8 and 8719.
Gas Density Sensors are fully electronic and use Trafag’s patented quartz tuning fork technology to directly measure the gas density. They deliver precise analogue or digital output signals and enable advanced data analysis for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. The respective product numbers are 8774 and 8775.
Hybrid Gas Density Monitors combine the benefits of both mechanical and electronic systems in one compact unit. Along with local indication and alarm switching contacts, they provide continuous measurement outputs that can be integrated into digital monitoring systems. The respective product numbers are 878x, 879x, 8729 and 8739.
