Accredited and independent calibration laboratory
Einleitung
Trafag regularly calibrates its own production measuring equipment to ensure that it always functions accurately and with the least possible downtime. Trafag is now making this calibration service available to external parties so that they can also benefit from the advantages. Trafag's calibration technicians do not carry out any operational work for Trafag, thus ensuring strict compliance with the accredited independence of the calibration laboratory.
The calibration of high quality measuring instruments used in test equipment monitoring and in the manufacture or maintenance of accurate pressure gauges is not a legal requirement, unlike verification. However, it is advisable to calibrate such instruments on a regular basis. This ensures their quality and process reliability, builds confidence in the gauges and reduces scrap and rework. Calibration also ensures compliance with standards, guidelines and certifications, protects against compensation claims and increases audit security.
Short lead times and express service
Trafag's calibration laboratory guarantees the shortest possible turnaround times thanks to the established and standardised automation of the calibration process. As an option, an express service can be booked to reduce the calibration time to three days. This means that the measuring equipment is back in use at the customer's even faster. Instruments can also be delivered directly to the calibration laboratory in Bubikon (Zurich), which has excellent transport connections.
Efficiency thanks to proximity
All customs costs and formalities are eliminated for Swiss customers. Thanks to shorter transportation routes, shipping costs are also reduced. In addition, the risk of damage or even loss is minimized.
Many years of expertise
With many years of experience and routine in the calibration of over 200 Trafag-owned pressure measuring instruments from a wide range of manufacturers, the Trafag calibration laboratory is one of the most established and, with a measuring accuracy of 0.006%, one of the most accurate of its kind. Experienced and trained specialists and the best measuring equipment in its class guarantee expert advice and consistently reliable quality.
Attractive conditions
The modern, automated infrastructure as well as volume discounts and framework agreements enable attractive and fair pricing.
Additional services for calibration orders
The Trafag calibration laboratory calibrates pressure measuring devices in accordance with ISO 17025. In addition to the SCS certificate, the corresponding calibration documentation includes proof of the conformity of the device to be calibrated with the specified standard and of the performance of the calibration as well as the measurement results and other information.
The calibration laboratory also offers additional services such as valve maintenance, repair of various instruments and adjustment of pressure gauges. In addition, the factory calibration of electrical multimeters and temperature measuring instruments can be used. These services are documented in the Trafag Calibration Report. This certifies that the equipment conforms to the standard and lists all measurement results.
Trafag operates a calibration laboratory accredited according to SN EN ISO/IEC 17025 with the accreditation number SCS 0156. Accreditation by the Swiss Accreditation Service (SAS) is the formal recognition of the technical and organisational competence to provide a service described in the scope of accreditation. The calibration of the instruments is documented by an SCS certificate.
Scope of services of the pressure ranges
The calibration of pressure measuring instruments is carried out according the SCS procedure. The Trafag calibration laboratory is accredited for the following measuring ranges:
- Relative from -1bar +700bar
- Absolute from 0bar ... + 700bar
- High-precision reference standards (piston manometers) and working standards (precise electronic pressure gauges)
- Accuracy of 0.006% … 0.015% of the measured value
- Digital output signals, for example CANopen
- Other protocols available on request
The high-precision air pressure balance is the heart of pressure measurement calibration according to SCS. It calibrates to an accuracy of 0.003% of the measured value.
Scope of services of the measuring equipment
The following measuring instruments are calibrated in the Trafag calibration laboratory:
- All pressure instruments for negative and positive overpressure
- Dial manometer
- Electronic pressure measuring instruments such as transmitters and pressure sensors
- Pressure switch
- Manual pressure calibrators
- Pressure balances/piston manometers (depending on accuracy, only comparative measurement)
- Pressure controllers
- Vacuum meters
- Absolute pressure sensors
Laboratory conditions are closely monitored and documented in the calibration protocol. Each instrument in the calibration laboratory is subject to the strict ISO 17025 calibration regime, which is recorded on the SCS calibration certificate along with the measurement results.
Trafag's independent calibration laboratory offers additional services in connection with the calibration of pressure measuring instruments: the calibration of multimeters and temperature measuring instruments, maintenance and repair of valves as well as adjustment. These additional services are certified by the Trafag certificate.
Adjusting devices
The Trafag calibration laboratory offers the adjustment of pressure measuring instruments as an additional service: If there is a deviation from the nominal value, the instrument is adjusted correctly and checked again by means of a further measurement. This measurement is certified in the test report.
Valve maintenance and repair
If the calibration shows that the valve is leaking, it can also be repaired immediately in consultation with the customer. After the repair, a leak test is carried out as an integral part of the maintenance. Regular professional valve maintenance is essential for sustainable production. The following valves are tested and, if necessary, serviced or repaired by Trafag's independent calibration laboratory:
- PACE5000, PACE6000, DPI515
- Mensor CPC 8000
The Trafag calibration laboratory also offers the calibration of multimeters and temperature measuring devices. The following devices can currently be calibrated:
- Keithley 2000, Keithley 2700
- Dostmann
- Ahlborn-ALMEMO
Important additional services of the calibration laboratory are the calibration of multimeters and temperature measuring
The fact that customers can have their temperature instruments calibrated in the same place as their other instruments means less hassle and cost - and less downtime for their instruments.
