GAS DENSITY MEASURING EQUIPMENT

Trafag gas density measuring equipment is divided into two groups, gas density monitors and gas density sensors:

Gas density controllers

These operate mechanically. The density of the sample gas is compared via a bellows system with the gas density in a reference gas chamber. If the density of the sample gas alters, the bellows system actuates one or more micro switches. Gas density controllers function independent of any power supply.

Trafag gas density controllers are employed internationally in gas-insulated, high-voltage switchgear in power distribution networks. Their performance record is worldwide is unique. Even at climate-related temperature fluctuations of over 135°C, they provide precise measurement results and function reliably and maintenance-free. They are therefore to be found all around the world, in the ice-cold polar regions or under the blazing desert sun.

Gas density sensors

function electronically. The consistent resonant frequency of a quartz oscillator under vacuum is compared with the resonant frequency of an identical quartz situated in the sample gas. The difference in the resonant frequency is proportional to the density of the sample gas. This difference is processed into a digital or analogue output signal.
