TRAFAG`S OWN ASIC

(ASIC = Application Specified Integrated Circuit)

Highest degree of reliability and functionality are the hallmark of Trafag products. Special demands are placed particularly on signal processing by pressure transmitters: in order to realize disturbance-free signal amplification at a simultaneously high signal-to-noise ratio, a special amplifier electronic system in the form of an ASIC was developed.

Advantages in comparison with conventional electronics:

• Supports all prevalent sensor technologies (thin film, thick film, piezo-resistive)
• Temperature range -40...125°C
• Three independent input channels (pressure, temperature and one further digital auxiliary parameter)
• Signals of only just a few mV can be processed without problem (i.e. free of drift)
• Comprehensive compensation possibilities via three-dimensional sets of characteristic curves
• Long-term drift < 0.1% FS
• Noise < 0.1 % FS (Vpp)
• The rectified output signals are available as pulse-width or pulse-density signals
